Can I just say...

Noelle is the SWEETEST big sister in the ENTIRE world. Seriously.

Noelle lost another tooth Saturday night and it was quite traumatic for her. She was not emotionally ready for it to be gone and refused to wiggle it for days worrying that she would miss it if it were gone. So, Saturday night she bumped it, it bled, and she sobbed. Mommy came to the rescue, tried to feel the tooth and accidentally pulled it out...oops. I promise you, it was ready and I did not pull it. She moved her head right as I was touching it...I PROMISE! After many tears, a good rinse and a few shouts of, "I trusted you! I trusted you!" she was in bed and settled down. The tooth fairy snuck-in after she fell asleep and guiltily slipped 2 dollars under her pillow hoping to make up for the traumatic loss. The next morning both Noelle and Jude came walking into our bedroom to wake us up. Noelle proudly stated, "The tooth fairy came and gave me 2 dollars, so I gave one to Jude!" Heart melting. Jude proudly shouted, "Look, I have a George Washington!"
Adorable. Cutest kids ever.

Gavin's Gone Wild

Well, not really. But he is out of town for a while. Gav has been traveling quite a bit for work lately. There are a couple of nice things that happen when he is gone...The kids get mommy's almost undivided attention. When Gavin is traveling, I don't feel the need to keep things as clean or organized and spend WAY more time playing with the munchkins. I also don't prepare big dinners and we just eat what we have and take as few trips to the grocery store as possible. The kids understand right now that he is gone in Mexico, as Noelle informed our waitress at IHOP this morning after dropping Gav off at the airport, "My daddy is in Mexico with high school kids teaching people about Jesus." Yessssss.
We do miss him a lot while he's gone. When he travels for work we get to talk to him on the phone as much as we like, but on this trip its nearly impossible. Jude doesn't quite understand that yet and has already requested to call daddy and tell him about something funny that he did (he ran into the doorway with a cowboy hat on, you know things worthy of making calls to talk about).
The first couple of nights that Gavin is gone are usually not a big deal and actually kind of fun. The kids and I have slumber parties and stay up late and watch tons more tv and movies than normal. Popcorn and hot cocoa are made at odd hours of the evening and who knows which bed(s) we will all end up in. But after the first 2 nights we are usually pretty anxious for daddy to come home. 5 days is the longest trip Gavin has taken away from us in a while, and this one is 6 days long. We have a countdown going...

A few funny things on New Year's Day

Funny things in the Brem household in the past few hours...

*Just heard Jude very lovingly say, "I love you Gavin." To which Gavin replied, "I'm not Gavin, I'm Daddy." Ca-ute.

*Gavin requested the entire Transformers cartoon series from Netflix and he, Noelle and Jude are currently watching it. Gav was impressed when I sang along with the theme song. I knew that would come in handy one day.

*I watched as Gavin and both kiddos completed the first workout in the P90X series this evening. I don't know how Gav kept a straight face when Noelle and Jude came running out in their "workout gear" to exercise with Daddy. All three of them made it through the 55 minute workout! I have a feeling that Gavin is going to be the only sore one tomorrow...
